When I think about it, Semper kinda gives me chills, since he kinda reminds me of those video game creepypasta's, like Ben Drowned, Sonic.exe, and Herobrine. Me and my friends had a conversation about it, and he brought up the idea that he could possibly crash your game, though he hasn't done anything of the sort. Overtime, I've been gathering research about Semper, and it seems that he's a pretty rare creature, and most people don't get to see him that often. Other times, my friends would see Semper appearing on their games, and I even overheard a few players in multiplayer that they've encountered a strange figure in their games. We roamed around Construct for a while and although he didn't appear that much, he did appear a few times and my friend got the screenshot. One of my friends agreed to join me on a hunting quest to hunt down the Black Figure and spread the word. Most of the time he would appear when someone's player model is glitched. From that point on, he would appear a few times on either multiplayer or single player. When I restarted the game, that's when he left, and I was in slight relief, but I couldn't stop getting goosebumps after that, so I just stopped playing Gmod.

At this point I was very creeped out, because I had no idea what this thing was doing here, or how to get rid of it. I tried to clean up the server but nothing worked. He wasn't tangible, I could walk through it and attack it and everything would faze right through it. He didn't disappear, but just chose to stand there. I took a screenshot of it and began to approach it. I was a little creeped out, and even got a little chill because I didn't remember spawning that model. I was killing zombies until I saw him out in the distance. I was messing around on the flatgrass map on single player. I'm not entirely sure how long, but my guess was about 2 years ago, meaning that it happened back in 2018. Now time for some story that sounds scary but that really isn't. "Semper" is a model from Half Life 2 named " player_chrome1.vtf" which is originally a HEV suit texture, and this model was used as the base model for the Half-Life franchise and Half-Life 2 series' players and death animations. With the many cases of Semper and his attitude towards the players that encounter him, the idea that Semper is actually a glitch continues to lean more and more to that direction. And then there are those who theorize that Semper is actually a supernatural being that haunts Gmod. Some say that Semper is actually the subject of a hacker playing a prank on the players of Gmod. Some people have said that Semper is actually a game glitch caused by missing texture models. The question of what Semper actually is, remains up for debate. In one case, there has been an instance in which Semper could spawn props and make the map foggy, though this of course is only a story with no proof to back. Some have said that Semper could crash your game, though this idea has yet to be proven as fact. Semper can teleport randomly, however he usually teleports when the player gets too close to them. Semper's main and most common ability is teleportation. It appears to be using the animation for holding a handgun in Half-Life 1, as it's shoulders are tucked upwards. Such is a version of the Half-Life 1 Gordon player model, but with an almost completely grey appearance with white spots on the thigh and below. Semper's appearance is that of the world model in Half-Life 2, or "player.mdl". Overall, Semper is a mysterious entity that has existed for who knows how long. Semper is an unfathomably rare entity, and because of this, little information is known about Semper, other than being a freaky gmod glitch. There are many theories out there speculating about the existence of Semper, asking about what he is, what he does, and why he does it. He normally appears in either old Gmod servers, or in default maps, and would constantly show up when the player least expects it. Semper is an unknown/unidentified entity that has been the subject of countless sightings within Gmod. So they'll spout lua errors in console and change that model's thing to player mdl." ― 藤原 拓海 ("Takumi Fujiwara") The server sometimes cant force a model over to error.mdl because of enforced playerstates in some servers. It has happened to me and its the result of missing content. It's a script error when compiling missing model content. The default is to switch to player.mdl which has been a thing for player entities since the 2004 release. Unrecognized "The gmod authors never would included stuff like that intentionally.
